Project Brief

Known since the Soviet Union, the recreation center “Amber Coast” in Jurmala was built in the seventies of last century and by modern standards, it is outdated. That is why the requirement was to implement the reconstruction of this wellbeing facility into a modern spa center. In 2013, REM PRO acted as contractor and provided wellness center architecture and design services, which resulted in a complete transformation of the existing sanatorium.

Project Details

The planning idea was to reconstruct the main building, made the facade restoration, as well as to create 4 separate cottages, characterizing the traditional Latvian ethnic regions – Latgale, Kurzeme, Zemgale and Vidzeme.

The spa complex design turned out to be futuristic, with an emphasis on modern detailing. Mineral water treatment is the current project’s value. Our engineers also included the formation of a new borehole for the drilling of mineral water in the design documents.

Project Outcomes

The total area of the renovated space is 50 000 m2. The spa solution was developed together with the Lithuanian design bureau “Dalis Erdves”, the result of cooperation with which is a large-scale, modern and truly health center both for families and individual visitors.
